How To Pray in Order To Be a Witness!

Introduction: Do you share the love of Christ with people? If not, why not? Jesus has called us to be witnesses (Acts 1:8). But in order to become a witness, we first need to pray. But what should we pray?

1. Pray that the Holy Spirit will give us influence with those we are talking to. (Mark 16:20)

“And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”

Since the Word of God has wonder working power, and the blood of Jesus Christ does not rub our sin in, but rather rubs it out, then we have a great message to share.

2. Pray for our lifestyle to be pleasing to God! (Psa 19:14)

“14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”

Confessing our sins (1John 1:9), and walking in truth (2John 4), is necessary in order to have the blessings of the Lord on our life.

3. Pray for the “Love of Christ” to motivate us! (2Cor 5:14,15)

“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

If we are witnessing because we “have to” or are “told to” then we will not have the right motives. Do you ever ask our Lord to check your motives?

Conclusion: Praying correctly will determine if we are witnessing effectively. In other words, we can look over this devotion once again and see if we are on the same page as our Lord when it comes to witnessing. Will you take time?
