Godly Leadership

Text: Judges 2, 3

Introduction: Everybody has “influence”! Some more than others. Mamas, daddy’s, grandparents, teachers, students, business leaders, presidents, and CHRISTian leaders can be used by our Lord in a MIGHTY way! Throughout the Bible, both men and women were raised up for a particular God-given purpose. At the same time, ungodly leaders are identified as well.

**Leadership = Influence

This principle is clearly seen in the book of Judges. Several lessons can be learned from this study. How is your INFLUENCE being used? How do you want it to be used? What changes can you make today to maximize your God-given leadership?

1. Because of good or bad “LEADERSHIP,” nations either rise or fall! (Judges 1:28, 2:10)

“28And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out.”

“0And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.”

That bears repeating:
“…unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.”

Beloved, we are in “great danger” as there is a generation coming up behind us that really DOES NOT know the GOD of the Bible. I didn’t say they didn’t know ABOUT God, but there is a vast difference in KNOWING Jesus personally. Do you agree? Are you concerned? What can we do? How can we use our INFLUENCE to change this culture?

2. Because of righteous or evil LEADERS, nations either rise or fall! (Judges 3:9)

“And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.”

Conclusion: A godly leader is known for what he or she STANDS for….and STANDS against. We need to PRAY for our President -Joe Biden & his cabinet, other governmental officials, and community leaders- that God will turn their hearts toward Him!

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” (Prov 21:1)

While we may not be able to change the WHITE HOUSE, we can make a difference at our HOUSE…and our Father’s HOUSE, the Church.
