An Evaluation of Your Salvation
2 Timothy 1:9-14
1. Are you SAVED? (2 Tim 1:9, 10)
A. When and how were you saved?
{The word “saved” is sṓzō, which means rescue, deliver, safe and secure}
When did you Confess you were a sinner in need of forgiveness and a Savior, Jesus Christ, who died in our place and rose again from the dead?
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things passed away….all things become new” (2 Cor 5:17)
{The word “called” is kaléō, which means to invite, summon}
2. Are you SECURE? (2 Tim 1:12-14)
“12For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”
{Sound doctrine}
“13Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 14That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.”
B. Are you secure in whose you are?
C. Are you secure in where you are going?
3. Are you SERVING? (2 Tim 1:11)
“11Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.”
B. How can we serve the Lord? (Rom 12:1-15)
C. Where can we serve the Lord? (Matt 28:18-20)
Conclusion: Have you done an “EVALUATION of your SALVATION”? How did you score? What do you need to do? This should be a daily process for those who have trusted in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior!
