Dealing With Difficult People

1. Pray for them first and foremost!
“6At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. 17Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (2 Tim 4:16-18)
2. Deal with the Anger!
“26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27Neither give place to the devil.” (Eph 4:26)
Be quick to ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart for any “seed” of “bitterness” that may spring up.
“15Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.” (Heb 12:15)
3. Put them in the hands of the Lord!
“19Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: 20Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.” (1Tim 1:19,20)
4. Fight to keep a good conscience and a peaceful heart!
“14Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works: 15Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.” (2Tim 4:14,15)
A clear conscience is worth more than a MILLION dollars! Do you have a clear conscience?
