The Next Resurrection

Introduction: There is going to be another resurrection in the future! It gives us great HOPE!! But when and where and how will this unfold?
1. The dead shall be “resurrected”! (1 Thessalonians 4:13–15) – “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.”
This means that those who have gone on before us will be resurrected—that is, their bodies. Their spirits will reunite with their bodies; howbeit, it will be a glorified body, not limited to aging or pain! What about that? Are you hurting?
2. Jesus Christ will “return”! (1 Thessalonians 4:16) – “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.”
Did you notice that Jesus will come to get His people? Not an angel or another, but the Lord of Glory will descend from heaven. Are you tired of looking down? Start looking up!
3. The saints will be raptured! (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17) – “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
Literally, the word “rapture” means to snatch by force! There “ain’t” going to be anything holding this body down!!
4. There will be a reunion in the air! (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17) – “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
Have you ever said, “Good night. I will meet you in the morning?”
Conclusion: This glorious truth that awaits every believer should motivate us to love the Lord, serve the Lord, and be faithful to the Lord! Not only that, but these truths should bring great comfort to our hearts. Are you getting ready for the next resurrection? Get ready, because “belief” will bring “relief”!
When? When the believing will be leaving!
Love y’all,
