A Hiding Place

Introduction: Everybody is looking for a safe and secure shelter. Do you need a refuge? Has life handed you a lemon? Can you find relief? Be blessed by this Bible verse.

“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance” (Psalm 32:7).

David experienced his God – the God of the Bible – to be a mighty deliverer. He can deliver you!

1. The word “hiding place” is סֵתֶר: (say’-ther). It means a covering, or it has to do with a hiding place. It can mean secrecy.

2. The word “preserve” is נָצַר (naw-tsar’). This word means to watch, or to guard. It can mean to keep.

3. The word “trouble” is צַר (tsar). This word has to do with a narrow, or tight place.

Do you get the big picture? It reminds this writer of the turbulent storm raging at the sea shore. While the lightning flashed, the wind blew, and the waves beat against the rocks on the shore line, a little bird was nestled, with its head, underneath a rock.

Conclusion: All of this spells a song of deliverance. When our God intervenes we owe it to Him to offer our praise and thanksgiving. Will you stop and do it now?

Love y’all,
