Don’t Forget God

Introduction: Nations forget God. People forget God. Please do not forget where your blessings come from!
1. America needs to recognize the GOODNESS of God! (Psa 106:5)
“That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.”
While this Psalm is a message to Israel, it is also a lesson for America.
2. America needs to recognize that the God of the Bible will judge nations that forget Him! (Psa 106:34-36)
“34They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them: 35But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. 36And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.”
It has been said that what is worse than learning from your mistakes is NOT learning from your mistakes! This goes for individuals as well as nations…America is included. Pray for righteousness!
3. Israel finally realized that only the God of the Bible could save them! (Psa 106:47,48)
“47Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise. 48Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.”
Our Lord hears the cries of His people. Eventually, He will save.
Conclusion: What a valuable lesson we can learn from God’s dealing with His people, Israel. America would be wise to take notice. But meanwhile, we too need to recognize the principles in Scripture are irrevocable.
